The Center for Youth Wellness (CYW) has utilized the Alex Pitcher Room at the Southeast Community Facility at 1800 Oakdale to bring the community together in a myriad of ways over the past six years. In fact, the CYW brought in the granddaughters of Henrietta Lacks to have a community conversation about research.
As the groundbreaking for the new Southeast Community Center at 1550 Evans draws near, community members have shared some memories of how they have leveraged the existing center to benefit the community.
